Don't Talk to Cops!

First, a law professor tells you why:

Then, a police officer confirms that everything the law professor said was true:

My Sensei in Virginia, a former street cop, Federal Marshall, and crime investigator, always instructed us in what he called "cop speak". This anticipated a well-intentioned individual coming on a bad scene, and trying to very quickly figure out if there is public danger and then WHO was the danger. Said individual would remember the very first thing you said, and contrast that for detail inconsistency with everything ELSE you then said.

Sensei taught us to say things like "I'm highly stressed right now, please let me collect my thoughts and talk with you later."
