It appears that Princess Beatrice's wedding hat was just one in a series of outrageous hats.
If you always wished you were a princess, Madame L hopes this has quenched any such wish.

Those hats were likely chosen by the two girl's mother, Fergie, the ex of Prince Andrew. Fergie (Sometimes called "Toe Girl") was pointedly DIS-invited to the wedding.
I'm sure Fergie did that just to poke a stick in the eye of the Royal Family, in the only way she could.
