28 Days Later

Remember that movie? The zombies were new and different: fast, for one thing; and really, really angry, for another.

Madame L is appalled at the lies being told in the recent debate and on the campaign trail, and as a service to her Dear Readers she is going to find the facts and expose the truth, every day between now and Nov. 6.

Madame L wants to remind her Dear Readers in the U.S. that 28 days from today they will have their chance to be Dear Voters.

Madame L isn't afraid of some zombie apocalypse, like some commentators on both the Right and the Left seem to be worried about. But she IS afraid that people might wake up to find a country going in the exact opposite direction from what they think is best, and feel regret because they didn't make their voice heard by voting.

Madame L hopes you will do your own fact-checking and---if you read the newspaper, which she hopes you do---read the fact-checking column every paper has lately. And then, of course, armed with the truth, you can vote intelligently. If you vote and the election goes against your candidate, then at least you voted. If you don't vote, you can't complain.

But Madame L also hopes her Dear Readers will take an active part in the campaigns.

And Madame L hopes they will know who they're voting for in the state and local elections, as well as the presidential and vice-presidential voting. These elections determine who will go on to higher office, including the House and the Senate, and of course those elected officials will eventually determine what taxes we will all be paying, what services we will be receiving, how our nation will be protected, and who will sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.
