Pants on Fire # 26: Making a Statement With Your Vote

The Lie: Since Pres. Obama didn't achieve all the goals he set and promises he made in 2008, people who voted for him then, as well as those who didn't, should vote him out, because obviously Mitt Romney, with his business and gubernatorial experience, can do better.

The Truth: Pres. Obama achieved more than anyone else could ever have done, and, as former Pres. Bill Clinton pointed out, nobody, but nobody, could have accomplished any more in just four years, given the recalcitrant Congress and an economy ruined by the previous eight years under Bush.

In fact, voting against Pres. Obama---whether you vote for Mitt Romney or any of the fringe candidates (sorry, fringe guys, not to hurt your feelings, but that's what you are)---will only hurt the country. Mitt Romney has promised more of what George W. Bush and his father and every other Republican has promised since the Vietnam era, and this has never worked. The so-called idea (sorry, idea, not to hurt your feelings, but I'm not the one calling this ridiculous notion an actual idea) that "trickle-down economics" will work has been proven wrong in every single case. And the Democratic president who follows those disastrous experiments with the non-idea has had to bust himself to get the country's economy again.

Vote for Barack Obama. Don't imagine your vote "against" him will make a statement to anyone in the country. It will simply be a wasted vote, when every vote should count, when everyone should be pulling together to get our great country going again.
